FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

KEVIN ANDREW ALLEN
KEVIN ANDREW ALLEN50, was born at Kaiser Hospital, Honolulu on December 30, 1967. He left us on August 17, 2018. In his early years he enjoyed YMCA Indian Guides (named Red Skinner) with his Father and was on the YMCA swim team. During these years he was active in the Kailua United Methodist Church including acolyte duties and youth projects. He was a graduate of Punahou School where he was on the school wrestling team and won the state championship in the 145 lb. weight class his senior year. As an exceptional student, he went on to receive degrees in science from the University of California, Fullerton and had a long career as a chemistry and science teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District. He was active in martial arts, holding second degree black belts in two and lesser in three others. He enjoyed water sports, having been a life guard and competitive swimmer in his younger days and an accomplished scuba diver. He also enjoyed music, playing his violin throughout his life. Kevin was a thoughtful, kind, loving, caring Father, Son, Brother and Friend to many. His students say he inspired them. To know him was to love him. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Angel Allen, parents Jerry and Beverly Allen, sisters, Kimberly Allen and Kendra O'Brien and brother, Keenan Allen. A Celebration of Life, open to all, will be held at Kailua Beach. Services are planned for December 22nd at 9:00 AM at the beach site near the canoes. It will be followed by a reception at Mid Pac Country Club in Lanikai from 10:30 AM. In view of Kevin's career, contributions, in lieu of flowers, will fund a scholarship in a school yet to be determined.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
