Hap was born and raised in Alberta Canada where she grew up on a farm with her family doing typical farm like chores. She lived in Canada throughout her mid 20's when she moved to Hawaii where she eventually met her husband of over 50 years, Ken Zelinsky. Hap and Ken started a successful painting business in Hawaii called D.Zelinsky&Sons of Hawaii Inc. which is still in operation today DBA Zelinsky Painting. Hap eventually got her Real-Estate license and for the past 30 years till the day of her passing, sold and managed properties throughout the island of Oahu. Although Hap had no children of her own, she was a beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to Ken's 3 Children, 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Hap loved living in Hawaii and enjoyed going out to breakfast, lunch, or dinner with family and friends. She loved her Eggs Benedict breakfast and a Bloody Mary on Sunday's and loved spoiling the Grandkids! She and Ken enjoyed going to the mainland to the small mountain town of Sonora, Calif. where they had bought a second home to go back and forth to visit with family and friends. Hap enjoyed going to the 'Black Oak Casino' in Sonora where she would get together with friends for a steak sandwich and a cold beer for lunch before going to play the slot machines. She would rub her lucky frog charm that she would take with her and come out a winner 99% of the time. She is survived by her husband Ken Zelinsky, his 3 children Steve, Lari and Matt and their spouses, 8 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren, and her brother Allan Fischer of Canada. Hap loved people and people loved Hap, she will be truly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday Dec. 7th from 4-6 pm at "The Pacific Club" 1451 Queen Emma St. Honolulu.
