Rita Bost Merriam of Kailua, Hawaii passed away on December 4th, 2018 at her home of 54 years in Enchanted Lake. She was surrounded by family and friends. Born April 16, 1929 in San Francisco, California. She graduated with an Animal Husbandry degree from UC Davis and spent 25 years as preschool teacher at Emmanuel preschool. Rita is survived by, sons Mark (Kathleen) and Keith (Andrea), daughter Carol, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and brother Crawford Bost. As the Matriarch of the family she ensured the Ohana would grow and flourish. Family get togethers were special times as she always encouraged each individual. Her positive outlook brought laughter and joy. Her wisdom and caring concern helped with many life decisions. She was a woman of goodness and faith. As a teacher she provided opportunities for life lessons to grow, to learn, and to be kind. Memorial gathering at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Saturday, December 15th.
