98, of Honolulu, passed away on October 17, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 1, 1920 in Kakaako, a member of the 1399th Engineer Battalion in WWII, and was a retired commercial artist. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Edna Miyoko (Ikeda); daughters Patricia (Jon) Matsuo, Joanne (Melvin) Kam, and Elizabeth Ann (Craig) Nakamoto; grandchildren Scot (Shizuka) Matsuo of Hyogo, Japan; Erin (Eddie) Sim, Stacy (Christian) Fermahin, Andrew Kam, Alex Nakamoto of Honolulu, and Tani Nakamoto of Boston, MA; and 7 great-grandchildren.
