James King
JAMES KING JARRETT, JR. 86, died on October 18, 2018 in Prescott, Arizona. James was born July 2, 1932 in Honolulu to the former Territorial Senator Mr. James King Jarrett, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Kapuaikahikinaheala Brown Jarrett. He spent his formative years in the islands surrounded by a large group of family and friends that remained close throughout his life. While attending Maryknoll High School, James met, courted, and then married his high school sweetheart, Mildred M. Mederios (Millie). James and Mildred were married on October 30th, 1954 in St. Augustine Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. James or Jamesie, as he was known, joined the Marines during the Korean Conflict and after serving, settled in Southern California. There, with his wife Millie, he raised his children, Ron and Debi. When James retired, he and Millie moved to Prescott, an area that he held in deep affection. A beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, he will be remembered for his sage advice and enduring love for his family and friends. James is survived by his wife, Millie, son, Ron, and daughter, Debi, his grandchildren: Kimo (Kanani) Jarrett, Kainoa (Cheri) Jarrett, Kaoo (Justin Nagai) Jarrett, Matthew Jarrett, and Michelle Jarrett; eight great grandchildren, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His brother Victor L. Jarrett, Sr. and his sister, Kaoo Jarrett Ludloff predeceased him. The family will be greeting family and friends on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Head Memorial Chapel, 529 18th Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816. Graveside service will immediately follow at the family plot located across from the chapel.
