A Manoa resident, she was born in Waipahu, Hawaii in 1930. She passed away on Nov. 11, peacefully at home with her family at her side. Karen retired as an executive secretary at the department of Human Services for the State of Hawaii. She was very active going on trips and participated in many clubs activities such as the Okinawan Haebaru Club, Manoa Lions Club, Honolulu Paranku Club and Moiiliili Community Center. She was also a pianist for participants of amateur singers on radio (KAHU) during her earlier years. She is survived by her husband Thomas Otaguro and four boys Clyde, Curtis, Glenn and Thomas Jr. with his wife Lynn, grand-daughter Caitlyn, and brother Paul Kaneshiro. Services will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will start at 3:00 pm. Casual attire, no flowers please.
