91, of Waipahu, died on October 6, 2018. He was born December 30, 1926 in Hilo, Hawaii. He was affectionately known to his friends as "Sarge" or "Kono". He served in the Army for 25 years and after retiring he started working at Duty Free Shoppers for 20 years. He is survived by his wife Midori, and 2 children, Teresa (Manabu) Akei, Travis (Linda) Kono. He has 3 grandchildren Kristin, Tyler Kono & Maika Akei. Celebration of Life Service: Visitation 9:30 a.m.; Service: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. January 5, 2019 at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel.
