June Setsuko Eki Arakawa
93, passed away peacefully at home on December 4, 2018. Born in Honolulu to Toichi and Miyo Eki, founders of Eki Cyclery, June was the youngest of six children. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and married the late Shuichi Arakawa shortly after graduating from the University of Hawaii. June and Shuichi took over the running of the family business for many years while raising four children. June retired in 1995 to care for her husband who suffered a stroke and later, for her brother, Jack Yoshio. She leaves behind her children Steven Arakawa of New Haven, CT, Joyce (SeFok) Chan of Chicago, IL, Susan Arakawa (Perry) Ho of Seattle, WA and Jayne (Jay) Kim of Honolulu, HI and grandchildren Keala, Alex and Anela Chan (Daniel Erikson), Erik (Emilyn) Ho, Emily and Erika Kim. She was predeceased by husband Shuichi Arakawa, parents Toichi and Miyo Eki, brothers George Joji and Jack Yoshio, sisters Ayako (Seisaku) Fujisaka, Ruth Toshiko, and Mary Shizue Eki. Her kind thoughtfulness will be dearly missed by family, friends and neighbors. Private services were held. No koden please. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
