Jacqueline Angela D’Orazio, “Jackie”
JACQUELINE ANGELA D'ORAZIO, JACKIE Jackie D'Orazio, 73, passed away December 3rd, 2018 in Honolulu. Born on November 10, 1945 in New York City, NY, Jackie was the daughter of James & Katherine D'Orazio and sister to Linda, Jim, and Judy. Jackie was known for her quick wit, relentless work ethic, and generosity. Her adventurous spirit took her on many travels around the world, yet her true loves were her family, friends, and the people & places of Hawai'i. A true pioneer, in 1964 Jackie was the first woman admitted to the Rochester Institute of Technology - School of Printing. She also attained a degree from Elizabeth Seton College, where she would cultivate friendships that she would cherish throughout her life. During the NY blizzard of 1969, having had enough of the cold, Jackie packed her bags for a what was supposed to be a short trip to Honolulu. However, like many, she was captivated by the beauty of Oahu, so much so that she decided to make it her home. She worked for Tongg Publishing in the early '70s, and for over twenty years at the East-West Center at University of Hawai'i - Manoa as the Manager of the Graphic Arts and Publishing Department. In the early 90's, Jackie was introduced to what would then become her second career - real estate. She excelled and was honored for many years as one of the hardest working, highest producing real estate agents in Hawaii and the US. She loved her work because she loved pushing herself, never taking no for an answer, creative problem solving and she loved doing a great job for her clients. Jackie is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Bill & Anna Washburn; daughter & son-in-law, Kathy Washburn & John Hoots; sister, Linda Bottari & brother, Jim D'Orazio; and her beloved grandchildren.
