John was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed away in hospice on December 14, 2018. He was born in Kalihi Valley to Joseph and Dorothy (Dora) Pregil. John was the youngest of three children, he graduated from St. Louis High School in 1956. The army drafted him in 1961. He married the love of his life, Dorothy and had four children. He worked at Shop 64 at Pearl Harbor for many years and raised cattle with his brother Joseph up in Waiawa Valley. The last twelve years of his life was focused on his family and his health. His son Charles Pregil predeceased him, he is survived by his wife Dorothy; his son John (Dale) Pregil, Jr.; daughters: Doreen Pregil, and Michelle (Preston) Ramones; Grandchildren; Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister Mary Jane Souza and brother Joseph Pregil. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church. Private Viewing: 9:00 a.m.; Public Viewing: 9:30 a.m.; Mass: 10:30 a.m.; Lunch to follow. Burial: 1:00 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
