Frederick T. Bail
Frederick T. BailFrederick T. Bail was born on March 27, 1944 in Brockton, Massachusetts and died in Waimanalo, Hawai'i on January 17, 2019. He received his PhD in Educational Psychology from Cornell in 1970 and was on the faculty at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa from 1969 - 2012 and Prof. Emeritus until his death. Fred's favorite activity was cultivating compassionate friendships. He loved music, especially slack key guitar, and photography. He died while walking near his cottage home on the beach, his favorite spot on earth. Predeceased by his parents, Vivian Gibbs and Richard N. Bail, Sr., he is survived by his brother Richard N. (Lynne) Bail, Jr., his sister Carrie (Darius Jonathan) Bail; nine grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; his best friend, Chuck (Cynthia) Larson and many more friends. For those wishing to donate in honor of Fred, we know he supported Ho'okua'aina (www.hookuaaina.org/) empowering youth to realize the meaning of life through the cultivation of kalo and Hawaiian based values or to Communities without Borders (orphanage in Zambia founded by Dick Bail - www.communitieswithoutborders.org).
