90, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2018 at the Queen's Medical Center West surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 21,1928 in Ewa, Hawaii and lived his entire life in Honouliuli. He was a 1947 graduate of Waipahu High School. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the First Cavalry HQ, HQ Company, 70th Tank Battalion and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sgt. First Class. He was an automotive machinest, and with his older brother Ted, founded Ted's Auto Repair. Gary will forever be remembered by his wife and best friend of 57 years Nancy N.; son Lon; daughter-in-law Desir'ee; grand- children Chaney, Aurora, Bela, and Wilde; brother Daniel Y. Takiguchi of Durham, NC; sister Jane S. Kato of Huntington Beach, CA; numerous family members, and dear friends The family would like to give a special mahalo to Rowena Fernandez and all the others who took wonderful care of Gary during his illness. Services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary-Mauka Chapel. Visitation is at 5:00 PM. Services will begin at 6:00 PM.
