MAURICE SY-WING ZANE, SR. Age 83, passed away peacefully at Tripler Army Medical Center on January 8, 2019 with family at his bedside. He was born on April 18, 1935, in British Crowned Colony, Hong Kong, China, to Ernest Hin Fong Ching and Violet Hew Zane. He is survived by his wife, Jong Soon and his three children, Jan Zane-Chin, Hew, and Maurice Zane, Jr. He has one granddaughter, Alyssa Chin. He faithfully served his country in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He lived his life spending time with family and friends, walking about the town of Paia, and sharing stories of his military career. Maurice will be lovingly remembered for his wonderful ability to make people smile and his love of sports. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched while coaching youth soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Honolulu Christian Church, 2207 Oahu Ave. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 service. Inurnment will be on February 18th at 11:30 a.m., at Punchbowl National Cemetery, 2177 Puowaina Drive. Arrangements Provided By: Ultimate Cremation Services LLC
