She has shown her work in numerous exhibits through her art career and received numerous awards by the State Foundation on Culture and Arts and by the Hawaiian Artist League in 1987 and by the Mark Masuoka Design Inc. award in 1988. Aiko enjoyed gathering her friends including many artists in her Makiki home especially for New Years Eve. She was also a generous donor to the Hawaiian Humane Society due to her love of animals, especially her poodle at home and a series of cats she cared for at her Chinatown art studio. She will always be remembered by her wide smile and ready laugh and was blessed with a happy and healthy life. A private service will be held.
