Frederick “Fred” “Butch” “Dinga” Asao Zukeran
76, of Hawaii Kai, passed away at Straub Hospital, on December 20, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the eldest child of Fred and Ruth Zukeran and grew up in the Aina Koa and Koko Head areas of Honolulu. He worked in airline cargo for nearly 30 years, was the primary caretaker of his mother and father-in-law in the last years of their lives, and for the past 16 years continued to enjoy helping others in his career as a massage therapist at the Kahala Hotel. Fred is survived by wife, Kay; son, Damian (Nana); daughter, Thea (Eric) Helfer; grandchildren, Ryenne and Connor Helfer, and Sara and Rick Zukeran. He is also survived by brother, Gregory (Karean); and sisters, Gail (Allen) Furutani and Wilma Suehisa. His memorial service will start at 10:30 a.m., Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel, Sunday, March 31, 2019. Lunch will follow. Aloha wear is encouraged. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary
