It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Marlene Goldbeck Moniz, age 81, on February 13, 2019, in Roseville, CA. Marlene was born in Petaluma, CA, on May 19, 1937, and is a graduate of Petaluma High School, Class of 1955. She earned a Registered Nurse degree at Santa Rosa Junior College in 1958. At SRJC, she met John Moniz, and they were married on November 9, 1958, then moved to Hawaii, where she was a nurse at Kauikeolani Children's Hospital, Kapiolani Women's and Children's Hospital, worked for Dr. Arlene Myers, and at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. After John's retirement, they moved to Riverbank, CA, where she worked at English Oaks Nursing and Rehab Hospital in Modesto. After her retirement, they moved to Lincoln, CA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Moniz, and her parents, Walter and Edna (Freathy) Goldbeck. She is survived by sons, Jeffrey and Michael Moniz, daughter Marcie (Moniz) Schwarz; grandchildren: Ryan, Chad and Kristin Moniz, and Christopher and Emily Schwarz; sisters Irene (Blohm) Davidson and Louise (Blohm) Mahrt. Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, 47-200 Kahekili Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii. Lunch reception to follow.
