FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Melanie “Lani” Carr Lucas
Melanie 78, passed away on August 27, 2018 in Clay Center KS surrounded by Family who Loved her So. Melanie was born on August 05, 1940 in Ohio to Charles & Viola (Carr) Davis. Melanie married her former husband, Paul A Lucas (RET LTC, Army) and had 4 beautiful children. In 1971 the family moved to Hawai'i due to Military Service however shortly after separated. Melanie remained in Hawai'i and raised her children while she put herself through college and worked full time. She earned her BSN Degree from Hawai'i Loa University in 1987. Melanie was an amazing person, she left the only life she knew in Ohio and moved to Hawai'i and created a life for her family that only dreams are made of. Melanie sang for the Honolulu Symphony and for the Honolulu Opera Company. She was also a part of the Oahu's North Shore Christian Fellowship. She is survived by her 4 children: Christine (Joseph) Calaustro, Jeffrey (Mitzi) Lucas, Jennifer (Rob) Wirtz & Ryan (Jenny) Lucas; 15 GrandChildren, 12 Great GrandChildren & 6 Great Great GrandChildren. Celebration of Life Service: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Ali'i Beach Park in Haleiwa The sinking of her ashes will follow, off the shore of Ali'i Beach, a place that Melanie Loved and called Home.
