Our beloved Aunt Patricia died peacefully at Arcadia Retirement Residence on February 18, 2019 at age 93. She will always be remembered as our deeply caring and rascal, fun-loving Aunt, who instilled in us the importance of family and service to others. Patricia was born in Kohala, Hawaii and moved with her family as a small child to Honolulu. She graduated from Punahou in 1943 and the University of California in 1947. She then received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Hawaii. Patricia worked for the Department of Human Services for 25 years before retiring in 1979. Patricia was an avid volunteer at the Hawaiian Humane Society and was a long-standing supporter of Punahou and her classmates. She enjoyed traveling with her brothers and sisters and gardening in her back yard on the slopes of Manoa Valley. Patricia is predeceased by brothers Albert C. Zane and Choy Zane, Jr.; and sisters Margaret Z. Bruhn and Frances Z. Chock. She is survived by nephews: John A. Chock, Ed Alan Zane, Jeffery C. Zane; nieces: Patricia C. Chainon, Margie Z. Landreth, Dorianne Zane; 12 grand nephews and nieces and six great grand nephews and nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 17, 2019 at the Outrigger Canoe Club. Aloha attire. No flowers. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to Punahou School and the Hawaiian Humane Society.
