Age 80, of Aiea, HI passed away on January 30, 2019 in Honolulu, HI. She was born on April 30, 1938 in Kauai, HI. She began her teaching career at Nanaikapono Elementary in 1961 and retired from Waimalu Elementary in 1993. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. Thelma is survived by her husband, James Sonobe; son, Todd Sonobe; daughter, Cami Sonobe; brothers, Donald Torii, Royce (Helen) Ebesu, Ed (Nancy) Torii; sisters, Mildred Matsuyoshi, Amy (Donald) Morita; grandchildren, Kelsy Sonobe Morita, Tayler Sonobe Morita and Reyn Yogi Sonobe. Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. No flowers please.
