96, of Honolulu passed away peacefully at Queen's Hospital on February 25, 2019. He was a graduate of Iolani School and an attendee of the University of Hawaii. He served in both the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1943 to 1945 and the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 and received the Asiatic-Pacific Service and World War II Victory Medals. He was employed by Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and retired after 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife, June, of 62 years, his children Pauline, Timothy (Stefanie), Lloyd and Jerrilyn Nirei: grandchildren Jayden and Alena Hiu, Darren and Nicole Nirei; and sister Patricia Yim. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Borthwick Mortuary. Viewing: 10:30 a.m.; Service: 11:30 a.m. Burial at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. No flowers. Casual Attire.
