May 26, 1919 January 13, 2019; born in Oakland, CA. Pastor Emeritus of United Church of Christ-Judd Street. Throughout his 41 years of ministry and during his retirement, Rev. Jow lived a life of service to others. During his pastorate, he worked in a Japanese internment camp in Utah and at churches in Honolulu and California. In 1965, Rev. Jow helped form the Honolulu Committee of Project Concern International (PCI) a non-profit health services organization. He was instrumental in creating PCI's Honolulu Walk for Mankind in 1969 a 26 mile charity walk/run. He is believed to have brought the very first fundraising walk event to Hawaii and raised nearly $1 million during his tenure. He also created the East West Christian Outreach (EWCO) ministry in 1988 to help provide books, scholarships and other financial assistance to seminaries and pastors in China. Predeceased by his first wife, Lillian. Survivors include wife Christine Jow and children Dr. Kimo, Keoni, Donda Spiker, Dr. Kami, and Deidra Jow; siblings David Jow and Jean Crichton, and grandchildren, nieces and a nephew. Services held.
