2/15/1959 to 3/12/2019, of Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii passed away on March 12, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. She joins her mother and father, Helen and Chris. Lorey was an awesome athlete; swimmer (Aulea and Kailua High), paddler (Kailua, Healani & Hui Nalu Canoe Clubs), world champion kayaker (HCKT), seamstress, and accountant who made her presence felt as soon as she entered the room. Her eyes, her smile, her laughter. her insistence on doing things her way. her courage. her passion for life. Lorey is survived by sisters Christy H. Bode Hall (Randy), Sandy K. Bode and family, Beryl Haxton (aunty), Hawaii first cousins - Michael Haxton, Sheri Haxton Warren, Charlie & Jeannie Gomard, Howard and Ron Bode, Louisa Bode Serakaku, Rennie Awana. She is also survived by an aunt and first cousins on the mainland as well as numerous second cousins. Please join us to celebrate Bode Kailua Beach Sunday April 7, 2019. Beach service 9am, aloha 'oe paddle 10:00am celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers all donations will be forwarded to the girls junior crews programs at Kailua and Hui Nalu Canoe Clubs as her way to perpetuate the sport of outrigger canoe paddling in Hawaii.
