Vivian A.C. Chang
Vivian A.C. Chang VIVIAN A.C. CHANG 1924 ~ 2019 Vivian A.C. Chang was born May 11, 1924 on the island of Kaua'i. In 1947 she married Thomas M.C. Chang [Professor Thomas Chang of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, School of Education] who predeceased her in 2015. She received a master's degree in education from Columbia University. She worked for the Department of Education and the University of Hawai'i. She was the aptitude tester for the Department of Education identifying gifted and special needs students. She taught at Lahainaluna, University Laboratory School and Ka'ahumanu Elementary School. She loved music and was an outstanding pianist. She also loved gardening and fine crafts. Vivian was well known for her porcelain dolls, Hawaiian feather lei and Hawaiian quilts. She passed away peacefully at the age of 94 in Honolulu. She is survived by her two sons: David Alan Chang of Honolulu and Williamson Chang of the University of Hawai'i, William S. Richardson School of Law faculty. Services will be held at the Chapel of Diamond Head Memorial Park and Mortuary. Services at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at 12:30 p.m.
