76, of Sunset Beach, peacefully crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on April 28, 2019. Awaiting his arrival was his dog Mochi. Born in Wahiawa, Danny was raised by his parents Allen Nahooikaika and Loretta Balbirona in Sunset Beach. After graduating from Kahuku High School and The Church College of Hawaii (BYU-HC), Danny became an educator of Industrial Arts and proudly taught at Ilima Intermediate School for 29 years. Danny is survived by his wife Sherrill; sons: Kyle, Stacy, Logan (Tara); 2 grandchildren: Kyler Balbirona and Summerly Smith. Danny is also survived by his brother, Jerry Balbirona; sisters: Priscilla Ordenstein (Ken), Gloria Kamai, JoAnn (Steven) Kalulu, Shirley (Russell) Cataluna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Rodney (Valerie). Services to be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Hosoi Mortuary, at 6:00 p.m. Casual attire is requested.
