Thalia Anastasopulos Tuohy
Thalia Anastasopulos Tuohy91, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2019 at home. Thalia was born in Honolulu to Greek parents, Peter & Valentine Anastasopulos. She grew up in Makiki, graduated from Roosevelt High School '45 and Honolulu Business School. She retired as a library assistant from Chaminade University, was active member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, served for many years on the Philoptochos Society, named woman of the year in 1986 and played an active role on the Greek festival cooking and baking committee. She married Patrick Tuohy, law student in 1951 and after a brief move to Denver to finish school, returned home to Kailua to raise a family. She loved life, was a great mother, aunt, sister, daughter, avid bowler in the 70's and member on the Pali Kuuipo team, a bridge player, a great cook and friend to all. She is survived by daughter, Shauna; sons: Edward (Marilyn) & Peter; grandchildren: Patrick & Brendan Tuohy, Alexandra Tuohy, Coralie "CC" & Murphy Busek. She is also survived by Jack Vellis, Thalia Henning, Harlan & Robert Evans, Demitri Marmash and their respective families. Thalia's memorial will be held at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Pacific on Friday, May 24, 2019, 930 Lunalilo Street (entrance on Victoria St.), Honolulu, HI. Viewing at 10:00 a.m., Service at 11:00 a.m. and Luncheon immediately following in the Parish Hall. Parking is limited. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary
