71, of Hawaii Kai, peacefully passed away at his home on May 8, 2019. Born and raised in Hawaii to his loving parents Henry and Betty Tubbs. Fred proudly attended St. Louis School, Class of 1965 (Go Crusaders!). He would go on to attend the University of Montana, where he played on the Grizzly football team. Fred dedicated his life to helping Hawaii's youth, first at the Hawaii Job Corps and then at the Detention Home (DH) with the Department of the Judiciary.This devotion merged with his love of football to allow him the privilege to coach teams at both Kaiser High School and St. Louis School. Fred was dedicated to his family and he will be greatly missed. His unconditional love, laughter and kind-hearted manner can never be replaced and will always be remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Debra; sons: Maikai and Liko (Katie) Tubbs; stepson James Farmer; stepdaughters: Jennifer (Adam) Paddock, Christine (Randy) Ortiz; hanai daughter Nohea Polendey and nine grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at St. Louis School Chapel. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow at St. Louis Alumni Clubhouse, 916 Coolidge St., Honolulu.
