Passed away on May 4, 2019, at the age of 91. She was a loving wife (Henry Chang, deceased) and mother of 4 daughters: Linde-Lee Masuhara (Myles), Debra Iijima, Sandra Hightower (John), Judy Hearty. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Esther Chee. Mew Yin held secretarial position at various departments of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She was an avid baker, gifted cook, and a lover and cultivator of orchids. Her generous spirit kept her hands busy baking and cooking for others while creating beautiful hand-sewn mats and patchwork quilts that can be found in the homes of all her family and friends.
