FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Kathleen Ku’uleilani Yuk Jun Kau
Kathleen Ku'uleilani Yuk Jun Kau70, of Honolulu, Hawai'i, passed away in Honolulu on May 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Honolulu on July 28, 1948, the eldest of four children, and raised by her parents Alexander Kalei Wong and Katherine Lum Wong in Nu'uanu. After graduating from Kamehameha Schools in 1966, Kathleen attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa where she met her soul mate and husband-to-be, Louis A. Kau. She worked in retail, travel and insurance before channeling her considerable artistic and creative abilities into her design and construction management business. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grand- mother (Popo), her family meant everything to her and she, in turn, was their cornerstone. Her favorite pastime was hanging with her grandchildren and enjoying Louie's famous cooking. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Louis; sons Zachary (Cori) and Nicholas (Yuri Hoshino); and beloved grandchildren Louis Hudson, Sloane, Ellena and Lily. Kathleen is also survived by her mother, Katherine Wong, her brother Michael Wong (Sherree) and sisters Allene Wong and Colleen Wong (Bob Ching) and sisters-in-law Claire Ho (Alvin) and Catherine Chun-Hoon (Lowell) as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Celebration of life services to be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:45 a.m. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date. Aloha attire is requested. Arrangements Provided By: DIAMOND HEAD MORTUARY
