August 20, 1937 ~ April 25, 2019 A long time resident of San Jose, California, Andrew was born in Honolulu, the youngest of 4 children. He passed away from complications of Parkinson's. Andrew was a 1955 graduate of Iolani School, attended the University of Hawaii and San Jose State University where he earned his B.S. and Masters degrees. Andrew was a veteran of the US Air Force. Following a 30 year career at Lockheed Martin, he retired to the Villages Golf and Country Club, a retirement community in San Jose, CA. Andrew was an active member of the tennis club, competing in tournaments and on club teams. He also enjoyed weekly rounds of golf, swimming, hiking, playing his guitar, ukulele and listening to Hawaiian and Jazz music. His wisdom, sense of humor, and infectious smile will be missed. Preceded in death by son Layne, Andrew is survived by his devoted wife, partner, and companion, Aileen (Kawakami); son, Landon, daughter-in-law Jean; grandchildren: Shea, JT, Jake, and great granddaughter Kaori. He also leaves behind a sister Ellen Jane, a sister-in-law Jenny and many nieces and nephews in Hawaii. A Memorial Service will be held this summer at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
