89, went peacefully to be with Our Lord, Jesus, on April 25 surrounded by his family in his home in Aiea. Born in Honu`apo, Ka`u, to Reuben Ho`omalu and Naomi Abigail (Kauhane) Cockett in 1929, he was married in 1952 to Violet (Quintana), who preceded him in death in 2008. A graduate of St. Louis School and St. Mary's College, Reuben was an accountant and retired from the State of Hawaii in 1991. In retirement he also served as president of the HGEA Retirees Assn. He is survived by sons: Reuben K 'Marty' (Loretta) Cockett Jr., Randal (Liz) Cockett, Noel 'Keala' (Cyndi) Cockett, Kevin (Lissa) Cockett; daughters Maura Alvaro, Jonell Cockett; sisters: Elma Aoki, Matilda Bruhn; 18 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, June 13, at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary (Mililani Park Rd at Ka Uka Blvd.), visitation 9 a.m., services at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 2 p.m.
