Mrs. Blanche Ohara Maeda, age 95, of Hilo, Hawaii, died May 9, 2019 in the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo, Hawaii and was preceded in death by husband, James S. Maeda. She was born in Ookala, Hawaii on March 18, 1924 and was retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Education as a Fifth Grade Teacher at Kapiolani Elementary School in Hilo. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross and Halai Kumiai. Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, Hawaii on June 15, 2019 (Saturday) from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; "Celebration of Life" Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. She is survived by, daughter, Lorri (Glenn) Taniguchi of Aiea; two grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary, Inc. in Hilo, Hawaii.
