ROSALIE GARCIA CADIZ
99, passed away peacefully to be with her husband, Federico C. Cadiz, on May 27, 2019. Born in the Philippines on December 16, 1919, she immigrated as a child to Kohala Plantation on the Big Island where she married and raised her family. Her entrepreneurial spirit began when she and her siblings opened the Garcia Family Store in Hawi (Kohala). In 1957, the Cadiz family moved to Honolulu where she was employed at City Bank until she ventured out to be a business owner of RC Employment and Tax Services. Her signature business was Rosa-Lou Tailoring Shoppe in Chinatown where she was affectionally referred to as "Nana Rose or Mama". After 30 years at the age of 88 she retired from the tailoring, alterations and manufacturing business. She was loved, adored and respected by her Ohana and friends. During her final days she was surrounded by family members with some making a "special trek" to show their love and respect. Spending time with her children and their spouses, 8 grandsons and their wives, and 16 great-grandchildren was paramount in her life and is her legacy to her entire Ohana. Preceded in death by her husband, Federico C. Cadiz, she is survived by daughters; Caroline Hasegawa (Edward), Gloria McGehee-Koel (Douglas); sons, Frederick Cadiz and Benjamin Cadiz (Debbie). She has eight grandsons: Kawika and Kimo (Carla) Hasegawa; Steven (Elsa), James (Patricia), and Robert (Maria) McGehee; and Daniel (Erika), Jeff (Beth), and Scott (Elizabeth) Cadiz; and 16 great grandchildren, her sister, Veronica Diniega and numerous nieces and nephews.
