Our beloved Father and Friend, George A. Snelling passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in Honolulu, Hi. George was born in December 1930 in LA County where he lived and worked for over 70 years. After Graduating from High School, George joined the US Navy, where he served for 3 years receiving several medals including the Korean Service Medal. George went on to graduate from college with a Degree in Engineering. For over 31 years he worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Los Angeles. During his free time, George loved to play tennis and spend time with his family. In 2008 George moved to Haleiwa, Hi. He enjoyed volunteering at Waialua United Church of Christ, watching his son surf and take walks along the North Shore of Oahu. A Celebration of Life for George along with a scattering of ashes in the ocean will be held Sunday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Haleiwa Ali Beach Park. George was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Stewart-Gemar, and brother Richard Snelling. He is survived by his brother Charles Snelling (Goldie), sister Nancy Edwards (Norman), 3 sons- John, Robert and David Snelling; 4 grandchildren- Sara Kahanamoku-Snelling, Samantha, Amanda and Jonathan Snelling; along with many nieces and nephews.
