Masako Kokubun, age 83, passed away June 3, 2019 in Los Gatos, California. Born June 8, 1935 in Tinian, Marshall Islands, she grew up in Okinawa and made Honolulu her home for 40 years. A loving mother, grandmother, aunty and best friend, she is survived by daughter Karen (Rowdy Hall) Kokubun and grandson Ryan Koenig. Service will be held Friday, July 19, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Jodo Mission of Hawaii, followed by a Celebration of Life lunch at Natsunoya Tea House at 12:00 p.m. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Morita Kokubun, at the National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
