88, of Kaneohe, passed away on May 10, 2019. Sada, as he was known, was born on January 12, 1931 in Pahala, Hawaii. He was the oldest of six children. Sada was a loving and compassionate family man and a friend to everyone whose lives he touched. Preceded in death by his first wife, Natsuyo, he is survived by his present wife, Mabel Haruko Kanbe; children, Karen Kanbe, Kerry (Kelly) Kanbe and Liane (Lance) Motoyama; grandchildren, Lindsey and Stephanie; step-grandchildren Tasha and Kelsea Ann; and siblings, Jean Uemura, I. Ivan (Yolanda) Kanbe and Verne (Karen) Kanbe. Sada served in Korea and Vietnam as a Communications Specialist with the U.S. Military. Upon retiring from the Armed Forces he continued working in communications. Sada enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands gardening. He had a very green thumb and a passion for orchids. His other interests included golfing, taking long walks and spending time with friends and family. He had a big heart and would help those in need that asked. A special "Thank You" to those individuals that took time out of their busy days to spend time with our Dad at Aloha Nursing, keeping him company and uplifting his spirit. It meant the world to him.
