James William FischerJames William "JW" Fischer, 1040 Kamaole St. Honolulu, HI born March 23rd, 1949 passed June 5th, 2019 due to cardiac complications. JW is survived by wife Rebecca "Becky", son Brett and his wife Jessie, grandchildren Logan, Liv, and Dane, brother Curt and his wife Denise and sister Phyliss and his husband John and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Norma, brother Steve, and daughter Carly. JW was the first of four children born in Council Bluffs. He graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in structural engineering. JW lived in Colorado, briefly in Montana, then to Hawaii for the balance of his adult life where he co-founded and was President of Co-Ha builders. It was here where he had his primary business success and closest friendships were formed. He excelled at sports of all kinds, from the early basketball crowd chants of "Swisher Fischer", to flying down snow-capped mountain ski runs with his grandchildren. He ultimately developed a special love for tennis and in his spare time could be found playing at the Oahu Club with his friends and son, Brett. JW was a lover of animals and in the animal kingdom he is survived by Bo the bulldog, who spent most weekends with him chasing balls at Kuliouou Beach Park. In 2006, he was remarried to Becky, the love of his life, and they spent the last 13 years happily side by side. JW was a great husband, father, brother, and friend. He was thoughtful, trustworthy, and possessed an infectious zest for life. He was loved. The celebration of his life will be held Saturday June 29th overlooking Maunalua Bay in Honolulu.
