FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

DAMASO “CLEM”, “ROCKY”, “PAPA”, AND “G-POPS” CLEMENTE JR.
DAMASO DAMASO CLEM, ROCKY, PAPA, AND G-POPS CLEMENTE JR. December 29, 1926 to June 4, 2019 Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 92. He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother (Damaso Sr. & Emily), wife Katherine and children Frederick "Leon" Medeiros Garcia, George "Boy" Iwane and 6 siblings Annie, Emelia, Freeman, Louisa, Miguel and Carol. Clem is survived by his children Derek (Ewalani), Glenn "Fat" (Gladys) Clemente and Bernadette "Bernie" Iwane and Hanai daughter Lori Dilay, 13 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Clem worked in the food industry for over 65 years. He retired from the Kahala Hilton Hotel in 1996 as a Chef Grand Manger and kept busy working with many side jobs to keep himself busy. On February 21, 2001, he started working for the First Hawaiian Banker's Club until his second retirement on December 1, 2017, at the young age of 90 and 3/4th just short of turning 91 as a Chef Grand Manger. He enjoyed going to the Merrie Monarch Festival every year. Enjoyed working in his yard taking care of his plants especially his Orchids of which he had many varieties. He also loved and enjoyed our dogs. There are 5 dogs but Queenie and Hoku were his favorites. He enjoyed life and would be happy just to watch TV and be with family and friends. Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 am, Service: 10:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea Street, at the Maunakea Chapel. Casual/Hawaiian Attire. Burial at 2:00 PM at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
