Dorothea Inn, "Girlie" to family and close friends, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2019, at the age of 66. She was the kind of soul everyone relied on and looked to for a smile, a bear hug and that twinkle in her eyes. The world is a different place without her.Dorothea grew up in Halawa Heights and graduated from Aiea High School, lettering in tennis. She earned three degrees in her college career at the University of Hawaii and Leeward Community College.
After completing college, she worked at Kapiolani Women's and Children's Hospital, and in the last 20 years, has worked at CareResource Hawaii. Her co-workers at CareResource say she was a gem of an employee providing an enthusiastic greeting to each patient and a warm environment for her work family. She freely gave of herself and her desire for excellence earned her multiple awards as Most Valuable Employee.
Dorothea also had a passion for crafting and loved travel, movies, and museums. She was a voracious reader.
Dorothea is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Inn and wife Estelle; Steven Inn and wife Karen; Clifford Inn and wife Jan; and sister, Marjorie Inn-Francis and husband Dennis. Nieces and nephew, Rachel Melendez (Juan), Jarrett Inn, Denise Nakasone, Geri Rita, Marilani Uchima (Kevin), Meilehua Rohde (Mark), grandnephew, Maka Koa, and grandnieces, Azalea and Emily.
For everyone who knew her, you are invited to share stories of love and affection at her memorial service.
