MILDRED SHIZUE WATANABE
MILDRED SHIZUE WATANABEMildred Shizue Watanabe of Honolulu quietly passed away at the age of 96 on June 8 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Pu'unene, Maui, one of six children born to Masajiro and Koma Shiramizu. Her five siblings included sisters Sue Lau of Maui, who predeceased her, Harriet Nakayama of San Jose, and brothers Pepper, Hiromi and Jimmy of Honolulu. She was married to Bob Watanabe who predeceased her and is survived by son Jeffrey (Lynn), four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Before her retirement, Mildred was the Administrative Officer of the Honolulu Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. She retained strong personal relationships throughout her life, remained actively involved with family gatherings and relished contributing with helpful chores. Her passion was helping others, supporting and encouraging her family and being proud of their accomplishments. "Grammy Mildred" was always there for us and remained an important part of our lives.

Her family will celebrate Mildred's life with friends at a private gathering.
