FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

SANDRA CROWELL
SANDRA CROWELLSandra Crowell, known to family and friends as Sandy, passed in peace due to natural causes on Friday, April 26, 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born in Honolulu on September 28, 1952 to her late father David H. Crowell and mother Doris Crowell, she attended Kahala Elementary and University Lab School. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a teaching certificate from University of Hawaii. Sandy's career started as a middle school teacher of art at Honolulu Junior Academy, transitioned to an account executive for Sea Life Park and Waimea Falls Park, and she later opened a tourist activities business, where she encouraged visitors to enjoy every aspect that Hawaii has to offer. For many years Sandy attended Central Union Church, volunteered at Honolulu Academy of Arts summer programs, and was a dedicated member of the Child & Family Service Guild. Sandy was an active member of Halau Hula O Manoa and traveled to Paris, France to dance for the Hawai'i Arts Festival in 2012. She enjoyed volunteering her time for the Halau's community outreach programs with Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Salvation Army's Women's Way Program. Sandy loved cooking and time spent with family and friends; her door was always open. With Hawaiian music always filling her home, Sandy truly embodied the meaning of aloha, a kind and loving person to everyone. Her warm heart and beautiful smile were contagious and noticed by all. She is survived by her daughter Noelani Lupton, mother Doris Crowell, siblings Michael Crowell, Shannon Crowell DeMaster (Doug DeMaster), Megan Crowell Sheridan (Peter Sheridan), nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved friends. Sandy lived a warm and loving life and it will be celebrated in true 'Sandy style' at 3:30pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Waikiki Yacht Club. Contributions can be made to her late father's endowment, the David H. Crowell Endowment, at the Kapiolani Health Foundation via Give2Kapiolani.org/Crowell. This fund provides medical care for indigent babies.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
