THOMAS TOMOHIRO OYASATO
THOMAS TOMOHIRO OYASATO11/20/24 to 5/17/19 (94) of Honolulu and Wahiawa, passed away on May 17, 2019 at 15 Craigside surrounded by family. He was born on November 20, 1924 in Koloa, Kauai to Chiemi and Ushi (Yakabi) Oyasato, the third of five children. He is predeceased by his wife Evelyn; both parents; brothers George, Henry and John; and sister Aiko Silva. He is survived by sons Gerald and Mark (Faye), daughters Lynn (Alvin) Ogi and Aimee (Howard) Araki, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is a 1944 graduate of Kauai High School, then served in the US Army. Upon his return to Hawaii, he attended the University of Hawaii, receiving his Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Masters degree in Social Work. He was appointed Postmaster of the Wahiawa Post Office and retired 23 years later. He was active with the Wahiawa Lions Club, Wahiawa General Hospital Board, Wahiawa United Church of Christ, and other organizations. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel. Visitation at 5:00 p.m. and services at 6:00 p.m. Casual attire. Please no flowers. Private family inurnment services to be held the following day.
