MARGARETE “MARGE” INGEBORG TAKUSHI
MARGARETE 86, of Waipahu HI, peacefully passed away on May 22, 2019. She was born in Holzdorf, Germany. While a young woman, her parents had her flee East Germany to live with her sister in Stuttgart, West Germany. It was there she met the love of her life, Samuel, a soldier in the U.S. Army from Hawaii. After moving to Hawaii, Marge, a loyal and conscientious employee, worked many years at both Arakawa's Department Store and then at Walmart in Waipahu. She was always easy to recognize in a crowd with her bright red hair. Many times, she was stopped by people, even while vacationing in Las Vegas and asked "you work at Arakawa's/Walmart, right?" She enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and could be seen playing her favorite games. A wonderful baker, she made many types of delicious desserts and had a sweet tooth for both chocolates and pastries with a good cup of coffee. Marge will always be remembered for her resilient, generous and loving nature. Samuel, her husband of 59 years, preceded her in death in 2016. She is survived by her sons Glen I.
