Joanna Fleming
85, of Honolulu, passed away June 29, 2019. She is dearly missed by her daughters Marga and Lori Koennecke and friends near and far. She came to the islands in 1958 at the age of 24 to join the Honolulu Symphony as a cellist, and remained with the Symphony for over 50 years. She also taught cello at Punahou School for 50 years. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Bill and Trudy Noble who moved to the islands to be near her in their final years. She is predeceased by her husband Bob Fleming. She is also survived by her first husband Fred Koennecke, son-in-law Stephen Wojtowicz, and stepchildren Jana, Tracy, Dana and Brad Fleming. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 20, 3:00 pm at Thurston Memorial Chapel, Punahou School. Arrangements Provided By: Oahu Cemetery Association
