Lionel D. K. Lopez
72, of Waianae, Hawaii, passed away at The Queen's West Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and close friends on Monday, July 15, 2019. Born in Nanakuli to Alice and Clarence Lopez, Sr. on June 29, 1947, he was the fourth of nine children. He was a kind and loving son, husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator with 37 years of service. He was a dedicated and hard worker. One of his favorite lines was ''I'm not the best, but I'm hard to beat." He also was a collector of classic cars, both big and small. He is survived by and was married to the love of his life, Constance, for 51 years. He is also survived by children: Lionel (Debbie), Veronica and Milton; grandchildren: Jade and Jance; great-grandchildren: Nainoa and Kulia; Siblings: Alicia (John) Wilson, Clarence "Maile" Jr. (Kande), Gordon (Sharon), Sharon (Wayne) Rapoza, llima (Terry) Liana, Milton, Zernette "Pinky" Mouser (Robert) and Ainsley (Tina); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunties and close friends. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones and also by his 2 loyal canine companions, Beauty and Sandy "Red Dog". Services to be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel. Visitation: 10:30 a.m.; Services: 11:30 a.m.; Lunch: 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.
