Eunice M.Y. Tom KyleMarch 24, 1932 -July 31, 2019 Eunice Kyle, a career Civil Service Secretary, admired for her 36 years of loyal service to the United States Air Force, passed away at Straub Hospital on July 31, 2019 after an extended illness. She was 87. Eunice was born in 1932 in Honolulu. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to earn a stenographic degree from the Honolulu Business College. She worked as a secretary at Hickam Air Force base for 39 years. She enjoyed taking part in the Hickam bowling and volleyball leagues during lunch. It was there that she met Jim Kyle, they married May 25, 1979. The two lived together in their condominium in Waikiki with her daughter Lisa. After Jim's brief assignment in New Mexico, the two could finally enjoy married life together. They spent the next several years traveling across Europe, Asia, and took a Caribbean cruise including the transit of the Panama Canal. Her favorite travel destination was Las Vegas where she relished the challenge of the video poker machines. Eunice and Jim spent their golden years cherishing the time shared with their grandchildren, Lindsay and Ian. Her wit and excitement for life will be missed by all who loved her. Eunice is preceded in death by an only brother and 4 older sisters. She is survived by her devoted husband Jim, daughter Lisa Kosasa (Paul), granddaughter Lindsay and grandson Ian, sisters Gertrude Chun of Honolulu and Brenda Pang of Arlington, Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services to be held at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel on Friday, August 23, 2019.
