FANNY K. HOPEAU Peacefully passed away at her Honolulu home on Saturday, July 27, 2019. Fanny spent her last days surrounded by ohana after a long battle with dementia. She was the first native Hawaiian female volleyball player representing the USA in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. Fanny was the "Aunty Aloha" of the "Da Bus" greeting passengers with her warm smile and beautiful fresh flower hair pieces; she retired from the Oahu Transit Services in 2008 after almost 30 amazing years of service. Her Memorial will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Public Viewing: 10:00 a.m.; Service: 11:30 a.m. Burial: 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
