70, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Melvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Allison; son, Gavin; mother, Sadako Shigemasa Sasaki; sisters, Aileen (Michael) Kurashima; Lynn (Ross) Fujimoto; nieces, Kate and Elle Fujimoto; loyal dog, Andy. Mel was a nuclear engineer for 36 years at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. His retirement years were filled with home projects, fishing and golf. He volunteered at the Sony Open for 11 years and the Lotte Tournament for 8 years. Service to be held Friday, August 30, 2019 Hosoi Garden Mortuary Visitation 10:00 am.
