FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Yukio Ota
88, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully in his Manoa home on August 6, 2019. He was born in North Kona on March 19, 1931. He grew up in Holualoa and worked on the family farm. He moved to Honolulu, then graduated from the University of Hawaii Manoa with a BBA in 1959. Yukio worked at Industrial Indemnity Company and retired as an Audit Manager in 1993. He established Hawaii Insurance Audit Services, Inc and was President and Treasurer. He fully retired in 2003 and spent his days sharing his home-grown vegetables and orchids with friends, family and neighbors. He is survived by his wife Grace; daughters Claire Arakawa (Derek Kimura) and Fay Okamoto (Sidney); grandsons Ken Okamoto and David James "DJ" Arakawa. He also leaves behind brothers Kazumasa (Yong), Makoto, Minoru (Arlene), sisters Aiko (Walter) Kimura & Tsuneko; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Services: 4:30pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Aloha attire. No flowers. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
