Age 84, of Honolulu passed away on September 8, 2019 at Malia O Ka Malu Convent in Honolulu. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and in 1961 entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts. She was a school teacher in Avenel, New Jersey and Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Sister Joan Rita also did secretarial work at the Catholic schools on the East Coast. She is survived by her sister Rita Lapre of Masachusetts; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great- niece and 1 great-nephew.
