1926 ~ 2011 Jay was born in Lehi, Utah on September 20 1926 and was raised in American Fork, Utah. Jay worked in retail starting at 19 years old and in 1959 he ventured to Oahu with his family. He started at Russell's Men's Clothing, and worked his way up to Senior Vice President of Liberty House. He founded Yami Soft Frozen Yogurt, the first yogurt shops in Hawaii, and opened 10 shops from 1975- 2008. A civic leader, he served as Honorary Mayor of Kailua in the early 60's and he served as president of the Ala Moana Association. Jay was loved for his sense of humor, his love of family, his generous nature, his determination and fairness in life. A wonderful man, who has influenced our lives forever! He is remembered by his wife, Connie Hennings-Chilton, son Greg Chilton, daughter, Pamela Chilton-Harmon; Sister Rene'e Edgar; his seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
